As a current fashion design student at the University of North Texas, I plan to graduate in spring of 2025. After graduation I hope to move to Minnesota and go into either bridal, costume, or private design.
I graduated from Anna High School in Anna, Texas, with a 4.0 GPA. While in school, I was stage manager for two years, an actor in the theater program for seven years, in choir for three, and I was a part of multiple clubs of the Gifted and Talented program, Acapella, BETA, and the Maker-space club.
I started sewing when I was a child after my mother gifted me a beginner's sewing kit, which I still have the pillow that I made with it. After that, my grandmother taught me how to use a machine and later gifted me the one I still use. I learned as I went, eventually using patterns or free handing designs and making multiple pieces before being accepted into college.
My way of designing is by finding inspiration and meaning in one specific thing, like a song or an object, and drawing from that. My art philosophy is that integrity is important in everything I do and I will design and make with that in mind.
I am a jack of all trades and skills/experience include but are not limited to: sewing, designing, pattern-making, embroidering, drawing, painting, animating, stained glass making, ceramics, jewelry/metalwork, tatting, crocheting, knitting, programming, woodworking, and prop making.
